Three months in Baltimore (II)

Back in February, it was the coldest point of winter, and the sun would set by 5.30 pm. The days were really short, as the sun would not have risen until way past 7 am. Hence I finally knew how they say one can get depression in winter, because it was often miserably cold and dark with such a short day lengths. I certainly do not love wintry conditions!

Now in May, the sun rises really early (way before I get up!) and nightfall only descends past 8 pm. These photos were taken at 8.20 pm yesterday evening, and you can see that there was still light. Imagine, three extra hours of daylight!

This extra hours meant I had to adjust my cooking time with accordance to the clock. You see, I used to start cooking only when I saw that dusk was approching, without the need to check the time. But given the longer hours of daylight now, I have been deceived into thinking nah, it's still early, when it is already time for dinner. Well, it will not happen often, for hunger pangs are a sure way to remind me to eat! ;)

Sunset. The tree in the photo has appeared in previous entry titled Around the Neighbourhood. Then it was all bare, and had no leaves on its branches. Ah, the beauty of spring!
