I have been here in Baltimore for three months! This is the longest time I have been away from Singapore; I will not say "away from home" as this is relative. With my parents in Malaysia, grandma and sis in Singapore, and the Husby in US, collectively I have three homes!
This break from working life has made me reflect on several issues in my life. Goals in life. Lofty ideals. Paper chase. Publications. Family and friends. Children (not yet.). Given the free time I have on my hands, it is scary how the mind wonders aimlessly or how fast thoughts can plant themselves and proliferate in my brain. Hence I get my fair share of suddenly awaken angst, to which the only remedy is to remain optimistic and happy. In fact I should be thanking my lucky stars that I am free of other worries, like debt or lack of food (Nooooo!). Importantly, I am also waking up to the idea that I should not wait for the planets to align before embarking on what I want to accomplish - there is never a perfect time.
Before I bore you further with my mindless chatter, let me get back to what I wanted to say. Over the week, I shall update on more new experiences and findings I have had here. I had intended to write up on some of them, but as with my short attention span, I wondered off again. Stay tuned!
