Let's talk about bunnies I

Most people (especially Fairy God Sister) would find bunnies adorable, and I think they are too. (Not just because I love Easter bunnies yah!)

However, I am not keen to keep rabbits as pets as I prefer the interaction that comes along with dogs. The only interactions I had with bunnies as a kid was of a different sort; I would always remember watching the Duracell bunny advertisements which we used to have back in the early 1990s. I always wish I could have that bunny!

Right now my favourite advert has a rabbit in there too! Here is the link to the singing skittles rabbit, which initially irritated me to no ends with its horrible "singing". But soon the tune became stuck in my head, and sometimes I sing like the bunny too! It sounds like a bunch of your-your-your to me.... As much as I like the ad, I would not want a bunny like this!

Then there is the book of "Bunny Suicides" - it is of these bunnies who have a death-wish and go all out to kill themselves. It is morbid, but really humorous too with links to popular movies like Lord of the rings and Star Trek. Someone uploaded the comics onto YouTube, so you can enjoy a sample of it here.

I have come across to websites dedicated to rabbits, but they are not your regular how-to-care-for-your-bunny sites. Quite the opposite I must say! There is the Eat Bunny site, which prides itself as "a home of tasty snacks for animal lovers". Before you grab the phone to call the SPCA for cruelty to rabbits, you must know that it is just a pixel shop selling "Bunny Bento" and "Fried Bunny ears". I seriously hope no bunnies were harmed in the making of the website! The other website is titled Bunnyocalypse - the marshmallow bunny apocalypse. If you love marshmallow peeps and bunnies, then keep out of this site! They feature real photographs of what happens when the marshmallow bunny meets the coffee grinder etc. For the record, I would not encourage such behaviour, but I take these sites in good humor. Please ensure you do no harm to rabbits after reading this post!

Last but not least, I leave you with some food for thought - bunny chow anyone? Again there are no real bunnies in here (Please do not eat them!!), and it is a slang for South African fast-food dish. Maybe I will try the dish someday, not the rabbits - I repeat, do not harm rabbits!
