Just the other night, I was flipping through some 70 channels on TV when one made me stop in my tracks. Yay! They were showing the Chinese film "House of the flying daggers", and it was just about to start!
As soon as Andy Lau appeared on screen and opened his mouth, I could not help laughing. Because the whole show was dubbed in English! And they all sound kinda weird, like the same voices which do the Pokemon animation; you know, a little squeaky? I totally did not expect it, as the Husby and I were debating if it would be in Cantonese or Mandarin. Plus I thought there will be subtitles in English instead. So wrong were the both of us!
In fact if memory serves me right, I have not watched a single Chinese show since I came here . Of all the channels available, there was only one showing foreign shows - I think its Spanish. When I finally see a Chinese movie, I will tell you okay? Then we can all go buy 4-D!
