The Flower Mart was a two-day even which started on Friday. The Washington Monument area was closed to all traffic for this annual event, and there was a festive mood in the air. There were many stalls selling various things from flowers (duh!), arts and crafts, knick-knacks (many pretty bags), to food. Plus there was entertainment as well - no wonder there so many people that it was hard to get decent photographs without someone hogging the photo.
At the end of one hour, all we bought was the lemon-peppermint stick to share. These are said to be a Flower Mart tradition, and as its name implies, is made up of a lemon with a peppermint stick stuck in the center. Surprise, surprise, it was really good! Not at all sour because of the peppermint stick, which soon dissolved as we squeezed and sucked the lemon to get every last drop of juice out. For the novelty of it, that $2 lemon stick was worth it!

Right: The three ladies singing on stage had everyone seduced and rooted to the spot. I love the backdrop!
