All about T-shirts

While surfing at Boing Boing, I came across this "Spoilt" T-shirt by Threadless- if you love movies you will instantly recognise these spoilers! I like the "299 die" and "Tyler Durham isn't real" (The first time I watched Fight Club I was so confused!). There are many cool tees on Threadless, but its a little pricey for me. I just have to be patient and wait for the sales to get a good deal, I hear they go for $10!

According to Boing Boing, there was another spoiler T-shirt too. Who came first? The way I read it, it was Theatre Hopper; if you look closely enough at the small lines, you will realise some of the movies are the same! Now is this plagiarism or what?

Apparently, another major T-shirt company David and Goliath, has been using images that look similar to published works by other designers, or to clip art. Horrors of horrors, where is their creativity? Perhaps raking in the cash was just too hard to resist, ka-ching, ka-ching! Here is the link to the collective images for your comparison, and you decide for yourself if it is true.

I like this T-shirt site called Johnny Cupcakes - nope it is not a bakery selling delicious cupcakes, but T-shirts with quirky lines like "Make cupcakes, not war" (I want this!). The whole set up of the store looks like a real bakery that when I stumbled upon the site while looking for cupcake website, I was like where are the cupcakes? Unfortunately, my pockets are not so deep, and my wallet is looking empty; the T-shirts from Johnny Cupcakes are by far the most expensive of the lot. Interestingly, there is this David and Goliath T-shirt that screams "Cupcake Kills"...

Closer to home (Singapore), I found this site called Local Brand, which has been around since 2004 but I have not seen it. See I told you, must have been too busy at the bench lah! Anyway, they have this cheeky T-shirt that says "TiT" which stands for "Tai-tai in training". This will make a perfect gift for some girls I know, although I also believe that no girl really wants to wear a tee that says tit! Then there is this other one that says " I heart Annabel Chong", what a celebrity she is now; adult movie, documentary, T-shirt and the 251 play. I like a T-shirt that says "100% Wu Song, 0% coward (in Mandarin)", in the range of T-shirts which are a tribute to Asian heros.

I'll end this entry with T-shirts from TalkingCock.com for laughs. They have this range "Lim Peh Ka Li Kong" (its Hokkien!) and the tee says "Chewrens nowsday all boh tua boh suay!" Haha, typical line you expect the old but feisty ah pek to say to us chewrens!

Happy shopping for your T-shirt! Do share share if you find more great sites. =)

PS. The Great Singapore Sale starts this Friday leh! Are you all set to go jostle with the crowds - think bargain-hunter-aunties, family with large prams blocking all aisles, and not forgetting fighting your way out of the MRT train because some people cannot stand behind yellow lines- to save some money only to spend it on others because its "buy-one-get-one-free" or "spend $50 and get a free gift"?
