It was a great day for me yesterday, I received word that I am able to start volunteering in a lab starting next week! It was my first interview, and I am glad all went well. Its exciting as I may get to deal with patient samples and relate the work to a more translational science ie from bench to bedside. I certainly hope this would lead to a full-time job, so I'll keep my fingers crossed!
This would also mean that I am no longer able to be a full-time-stay-home-bum. :( I will not be able to watch all the afternoon re-runs of CSI and Law and Order, surfing aimlessly from one site to another, and no more afternoon baking sessions. I must also admit that I will no longer have the luxury of updating my blog so often as every single day.
Its human nature perhaps, that when I had all the free time, I was wishing I could be occupied with something, and now that I will be busy, I wish I had all the free time in the world. For now, the main thing would be for me to stay focused and the job, and enjoy the scientific research. Back to pipettes and tissue cultures!
