I think somehow my photos in this post makes Baltimore look like a ghost town as it looks really quiet and empty. Looks are deceiving!
Last Saturday, we decided to go to Owing Mills where they have a big shopping center. To do that we had to take the bus to a Metro station, and then hop on the Metro, followed by the bus again. We waited for the bus to the Metro for almost an hour, and there was still no sight of it! I guess bus schedules on weekends are not as frequent...
So we headed to this other street corner to wait for another bus. Here you can see the swinging traffic light I mentioned earlier, and at the bottom right-hand corner, there are these newspaper stands where you can slot in coins to get your papers. I thought they were recycling cans from afar!

No shelter at the bus stop, but there is this bench for tired legs. The greatest city in America eh?
This is in the Metro station where we waited for the train. Its sort of similar to Singapore's underground station, except there is no glass doors... You can imagine the strong burst of wind that accompanied the train as it pulled into the station; now I know why they say you can see rats at the tracks too! The train itself was not crowded, and there were plenty of seats. No photos on the trains to share though, did not want to attract the wrong attention by whipping out a camera...
These were our day passes for traveling on the buses, Metro and light rail. Here it is a fixed price when you get on the bus, irregardless of the distance you travel, and that is a whopping $1.60. Thus you can see how worth it it is to take a day pass for $3.50.
