Project Pineapple tarts #1

It is my first time baking pineapple tarts, and I am sad to annouce that it was a failure. The only person who has tried it, however, loved it. For the record, the Husby dear would of course never say that it is unpalatable.

The pineapple had been overcooked, as I had misunderstood what my mum meant by dry paste. As for the pastry, it was another long story. I did not realise that I had bought margarine as it said on the packaging that it "bakes like butter". Sigh the warning bells should have sounded when it says "like butter" which meant it is not butter. Margarine has a higher melting point, and given the low temperatures here, it was really difficult to mix my ingredients well.

I am no fan of pineapple tarts, and the only reason why I am baking them, or at least trying to, is because the Husby absolutely loves it. That makes me a good wife yah? =P When I can bake them well, I will be elevated to a great wife! *whahahaha*

PS. This post was labeled Project pineapple tarts #1 as I shall attempt to bake that elusive perfect tart. If you have recipes that will promise to work, send them over! Meanwhile, wish me luck, I need it!
