A photo of the first Apple and Raisin cake (that also contains walnuts) we baked on Sunday night. I baked three of such cakes over the last two nights!
The first attempt was a failure in my books (although the Husby is still munching away means it is at least edible) as we were missing a key ingredient - the raisins! It was also a little too wet, must have been because I was too greedy and grabbed it out of the oven before it was done. Good thing is, you cannot tell from the photograph, so you will have to take my word for it that this is an Apple and Raisin cake even though there is no raisin in it! ;)
The two cakes I baked last night (it took THREE hours!) and the Husby and I brought to our labs today were all gone, no left overs whatsoever! My labmates were asking for the recipe too. This time I religiously boiled the raisins in rum and diced the apples into smaller portions, that must have worked wonders.
This counts as my second successful attempt to be a domestic goddess, the first being the Essential White Bread. May there be more to come!
