On the dining table

Does this make you hungry? :)

I was still into green tea bakes, and could not resist a green tea chocolate cupcake! Although it turned out to be too much chocolate for my liking. Next time I might just add chocolate chips to the green tea mix instead. Or red beans, which are suppose to go really well with green tea. And I am also very curious about baking with white chocolate, which technically is not a chocolate unless it has chocolate liquor. Crispy salted oatmeal white chocolate cookies anyone?

Berries are everywhere again! Last week we bought some blueberries, and I had dreams of warm muffins with streaks of blue in them. But soon I forgot about them (green tea got to me first!) and while moving furniture in the car yesterday, we made a startling discovery. The pack of blueberries was hidden under my seat all these while!!! They were all shriveled up, one had fungus too. Oops, did I destroy your appetite? It was not a pretty sight, but it certainly prompted the Husby and I to hit Safeway to pick up more of the berries. Yummy!

And for tonight's dinner, I decided we shall try two new dishes which I have been eyeing. Easy sauteed brussels sprouts and Easy Shepherd's Pie. First time having brussels sprouts! I have heard so much horror stories about them that I was afraid what it would be. I gotta say it was wonderful and we have been missing out on it all these years! From now on, it has earned it's spot on our grocery list. Shepherd's Pie has always been a favourite of mine, mainly because I love all the butter and carbs on the top. Potatoes rule!

This is one of my favourite ways to eat brussel sprouts. It's easy and very tasty.

Impy - lots of people HATE them.

imp: i gather from that you love brussels srouts? I mean how horrible they taste, bitter, mushy and all wrong. Not the of horror-ghost type. :)

Dawn: we should look for it at farmers market next time!
