On the surface, they seemed almost like best of friends. After all they are both from the same country, which in a foreign place as where we are in, brings everyone closer together. They chat in their own language, laugh and all seems merry.
Yet there is more than meets the eye. When one comes to me and demands something, and silly me, ever so bad at saying NO, caves in, the other flips big time and gets so mad at me. Raised voices, unpleasant emails. Yes I admit it is my fault. They are mad at me, for I have not been fair. That I can accept, for I am indeed wrong. But what they fail to see is how their behavior will affect others, by demanding themselves to be placed first, they fail to see how the others will feel. Obviously they are not going to put themselves in the shoes of others. And forget about the BFF part. There is no loyalty, only what you can stand to gain. In short, you are on your own.
Whatever, I am tired of these issues. In less than three weeks, it will all be over. Lesson learnt, once you open the door to it, you are just going down the slippery slope until you hit the bottom. Next time, I am going to eschew such situations by just say the magic word - no.
