This weekend, either than visiting the Mt Vernon Flowermart, I was also reading through the cookbooks from my mom that my sister has sent, along tons of spices. Thanks Sis, you are the best! ;) The package also included a really belated Lunar New Year card which my parents had written on, it is so sweet of them to wish me and the Husby "happiness always". That is not something that I would really hear them say, and to see it in writing makes it even more special.
Weekends are also a good time to make smoothies, especially now that strawberries are in season once again! Throw in some bananas and soy milk together with ice and wa-la, you get a tasty smoothie. While exploring Owing Mills area on Saturday, the Husby and I came across the very first Krispy Kreme doughnut place we have seen. Needless to say, we HAD to go in to take a look (even though they have a drive-through!). I have a new love: chocolate iced custard filled doughnut!
And how can Sundays go by without having dim sum? No photographs of food here, except that of yours truly, busy awaiting the arrival of the next push-cart at Oriental East. Besides, whatever tiny pretty portion of food on each plate simply vanished within seconds! ;)
On the back from dim sum, the Husby and I decided to do something spontaneous - stop by Mt Vernon (again!) and climb up the Mt Washington Monument! I was all cheery and ready to go up the two-hundred over steps to see what the view had to offer.
As the spiral stairs were narrow, everyone moved in a single file. Right in front of us was a father and daughter pair, and the little girl was counting the total number of steps there was. Half-way through, I was already feeling the burn on my feet and calves (see, it is all that winter hibernation and fats, which in other words meant "lack of exercise"), when the father turned back and asked us to go right ahead, in front of them! Ah, that meant I could not take my own sweet time and catch my breath!
The view was, well, not as exciting as I had hoped it would be. We were restricted to looking behind the grills and sometimes a plastic window, were they afraid someone would jump out? Then it was the grueling two-hundred plus steps down again. I so need a good leg massage now!
And so that was the long story of my weekend. Let's count down to the next!

Hi Suntaneye!
I think my drool will drip all over the donuts. Whoops! Anyway, that card must have filled your heart with lotsa warm fuzzy feelings. I wish I can teleport my iSqueeze over although nothing beats human massages and feet soaks. Hehehe. I hope you are reading this, KM! LOL.
Haha, are donuts still as popular as ever in Singapore? The iSqueeze does sound so good! ;) But I think the only way for me is to hit the gym, build up more muscles! *especially after the donuts!*
Oh yeah, talking about that reminded me that I cannot run for sometime, not until my recurrent knee problems are gone. I am currently on glucosamine and will need to monitor till things get better. *Sobs* Anyway muscle building sounds like a good idea, no flabs all abs huh. LOL. Donuts are still talked about and eaten but no longer as hyped up as compared to some time back. It feels like the bubble tea craze some years back.
Sorry to hear about your knee, I hope it gets better soon. Just do some brisk walking till then? Or skip those donuts! ;)
