The most amazing thing happened this morning, I woke up at 5.24am!
It was not because I had to go to work at such an unearthly hour (thank goodness!), but rather I was too hungry to fall back asleep. I was starving because I did not quite have a proper dinner the night before due to all the snacks I had at book club in the evening (Just in case you were wondering, The Book of Flying was not that big a hit) .
So I raided to kitchen to see what simple fare I could cook - should it be baked beer cheese bread (inspired by Dawn), some soup, or maybe some fried rice? In the end, I decided on the one dish that could satisfy my hunger - hash brown; in my opinion, there is no better way to start the day than with a dose of carbs!
So it was, at 6am, I was doing two things I love: peeling potatoes (I would never imagine this would happen!) and taking photographs. As you can see, the sun rises real early, and it was so nice to enjoy the sunlight.
By 6.40am, my fabulous breakfast was ready. By then, the Husby was awaken by the din I was making in the kitchen, and so I had graciously shared my mushy breakfast (a lesson I learn from Agreeable Sheep). Potatoes had never tasted so good! ;)
In case you are craving some simple hash browns too, you can find a simple recipe here at one of my favourite food blogs. Happy breakfasting!
