Some thoughts

The lack of any new update is due to my procrastination, something which I have become increasingly good at. It annoys me, but at the same time I cannot overcome it. When this happens, I know jolly well that there are underlying reasons why this is so. Put it simply, something in mind is not at peace with my heart. Just like my horoscope predicts, a sensitive cancer will hold your feelings behind your own wall. It is so true, for I find it difficult to communicate with people and share my thoughts.

There are also other distractions lately. Like the DS Zoo Keeper - the Husby and I have been battling it out. He tops the speed game while I reign over the other. After my incessant complaining and whining of how he topped my own game (yes I am a sore loser!), he scribbled my name on the wall of fame the next time he had a high score. How sweet is that! :)

Or how I bought fours books: The Joy Luck Club, The secrets of a fire king (these two were only 3.97, a steal even though I had read the first thousand times over), Unaccustomed earth, People of the book (This I enjoyed very much). And also read The Time travelers wife (I finally got down to reading it. At first I thought it is one of those with a lousy plot, but hey it was great!), A dog named Christmas and How to be good. Upon closer examination, you might realise two totally useless facts, I like short stories, and I have been reading books from Penguin.

I am also curious about audio books, given the fact that the Husby has just bought me my first mp3 player. Yes I know, I am so slow to catch up with technology, and no it is not a ipod. I refuse to fork out an extra sixty dollars for just the name itself. It has almost been a week, but I still have not figured out how to download music. Just great. Have you tried audio books?? Tell me about your experience, or why you will never get one!

What to eat has also taken a large part of my thoughts lately. We have traveled over a hour to Rockville for some Vietnamese lately, and just as we were losing all hopes of finding the place, we drove right past it. I am once again reunited with Banh Mi. They are so good that I can eat them everyday! Okay, maybe not everyday, but at least in place of Subway. But I am not a least bit in love with pho, instead I opt for vermicelli. If you have a good recipe for either dish, please share! And then there is the Korean BBQ place at Ellicott City. People come up to me and speak Korean - do I look the part? Then there is the Fro-yo place at Fells Point, which we sneaked out at work for a tea break. I like the creamy version, and Mr Yogato rules are hilarious. If you let them stamp your forehead (the stamp is huge!!), you get 10% off! My favorite place for now. Next up, to try a new burger place in town. to see how they stack up against Five Guys Burgers and Fries (Best in DC area!). Grass fed cattle and fries in olive oil anyone?

And this one is for Dawn, here is the picture of what I baked on Sunday. Orange Madeleines, rather heavy and not quite fluffy enough. Will give you some when I make the chocolate ones! :)

Oh yes, you asked about audio books - not a fan. Just because I'm old fashioned - I like the weight and smell of books.

imp: after knowing the amount of sugar in it, i agree that it can be a meal itself!

Dawn: Hmm I wonder if the movie will be any good. You are right, thumbing through a book is so much more fun!

Alvin: so you are more visual then! enjoy the long weekend!
