Half the wisdom

Part of the decision was made on impulse, the other was paranoia. The plus point: I could use my Medisave to cover the extrations. What if my wisdom tooth really hurt when I am back in B'more? I am not sure about my dental insurance, without which I will certainly be forking out like a month or two months of my salary on it - no kidding. As you can see, I am not impressed by the whole health care system here, but somehow we all get by.

So as I was saying, during my last week in Singapore, I boldly decided to pull out not one, but two of my wisdom teeth. The upper and lower left ones. Wednesday afternoon was spent seated on the dentist chair, and within an hour it was all over. By Thursday I was eating again! All the food was too tempting, and the thought of forgoing that bowl of Katong Laksa or wolfing down dim sum was unbearable. I am thankful that it all went well as I returned back here on the following Monday. The last thing I needed would have been intense pain on my loooong flight.

My only regret was not asking the dental clinic to return my teeth. The Husby promised that tooth fairies exist, but alas, what now without my molars? On a separate note, you reeeeeeeallly got to love this blog- My milk toof. I think Lardee is absolutely the cutest ever!

Nope - I had to yank some to make way for the wisdom teeth, but so far they haven't make an appearance yet!
