Hyacinth flowers

Back in Sept last year when we first moved in, the Husby and I went to Home Depot to look for lights but we ended up getting bulbs of a different kind - hyacinth bulbs! I blame it all on Ikea, the catalog display of that pretty vase caught my eye. All I could think of for a long while was about growing stuff in that vase. Of course the Husby was the one who had to go out in the cold Nov day and pour soil into the pot and plant the bulbs... :P

In the top photo taken last Dec, you can see the beginnings of the shoots! I was so excited then. As of early this month, it grew taller and started to flower!!! Each time I look at them I go awwww.... Unfortunately the vase was too shallow hence the bulbs could not stand tall. I hope they do not topple over!

I absolutely love the last photograph of all the plants at the window sill, with the sunlight streaming through. The window sill clan has grown too! So much so that Butterfly has now migrated to the other window sill. Do you like gingerbread man and swimsuit girl? Chicken the frog joined in the fun too. I am still looking for my dinosaur to place into the pots - yes, my mind is full of such silly things! :)
