With the weather warming up, and a set of wheels (I named it the Mean-Green-Machine; that is another story), it was time for the Husby and I to explore Maryland!
The Journey:
When I looked through the photographs taken over the weekend, these two images remind me so much of home. The Bay Bridge looks like the Penang Bridge, while the scenery along the journey was like those padi fields of Kedah...

After some 130 miles and three hours later (with some round-abouts thanks to Mapquest!), we arrived at Ocean City, Maryland; not to be confused with Ocean City, New Jersey. This is a popular summer destination in Maryland, which as it's name implies, has beaches right along the Atlantic Ocean. There was a three-mile boardwalk which starts from the Inlet to the 27th Street, which was lined with accommodations, shops, amusement parks and eateries.
More of the beach - the reason why we made the journey.
The beach is one of the best I have seen so far - I so love the beautiful white fine sands! Just look at the sheer amount of sand, pretty white sand to boot. (Ha, I sound a little over zealous about the sand!) As it was considered off-peak season, the area was not very crowded. The weather was great at 80F which was about 25C, although I had to wear a sweater with my shorts as the winds were still chilly.

From top: View from the Inlet, followed by views from around the 5th St area, and lastly sunset (too bad this was facing east).
As usual, on the morning that we have to leave, the weather always looked perfect, as if to mock us.

This is for Freo and Claytyr: Come to the beach before May and after Sept, otherwise your mummies will be fined!

The beach looks so inviting! I think running on it should be such joy!
